ChatSniffBot
The robot behind ChatSniff
ChatSniffBot only visits a website when someone asks ChatSniff to check it, or when its owner switched on monitoring.
How it identifies itself
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; ChatSniffBot/1.0; +https://chatsniff.com/bot)
What it does — and doesn't
It reads public pages, robots.txt, sitemap and standard discovery files, checks up to about 30 links and 8–24 pages per sniff, and asks Google Lighthouse for a speed test. It never submits forms, never logs in, and only looks for exposed files on sites whose owner verified ownership.
How to opt out
Add this to your robots.txt — ChatSniffBot will then check only your homepage and stop:
User-agent: ChatSniffBot Disallow: /
Rate limits
The same website can be sniffed at most once every 2 minutes. Questions: contact@chatsniff.com via the legal notice.
